crossing of the ancient puli with the German and
French drive-dogs with upright standing ears got into
the country. Its mingling and molding up with the
puli was going on for a long time. It is half a
century that it has been. separated from the puli and
nowadays it is thoroughbred. Its temper makes it
unable to keep quiet, it is a very lively driver. It
is audaciously daring, pushful and therefore also
readily used in driving bigger animals. It is of good
scent. It proved to be good in exterminating beats of
prey and rodents. It is a loud, baying species. It is
prominent in house-watching. It bears very well even
fancy keeping.

head is characterized by the elongated facial-nasal
part.
The crown of the head is bulging
and somewhat narrow. The forehead is slightly convex

standing, their tips abruptly bent down. They are
middle sized, proportional. Their shape that of a
reversed V. It moves its ears very lively.
Its neck is of a higher setting
above the medium at an angle of 50 - 55 degrees. It
is of medium length, somewhat arched, sinewy.
The form of the fore limb.-
As a consequence of its square shape the Pumi seems
to be long-legged. Its shoulder-blades are steep
standing. Its upper arm is short. Its
shoulder-curvature is in the plane of the breast. The
whole limb S of steep standing. It props the trunk
vertically. The two limbs are situated at a medium
distance. The pastern is abrupt. The paws are tightly
closed. The sole-pad is elastic. The claws are very
hard.

lifted backwards. Its hindquarters are short,
slightly sloping, medium wide. Its breast is of
straight plane, medium wide. Its chest is deep and
long. the tail is fixed high. It is held a bit
vertically or somewhat backwards, but distinctly
upwards. It is cut off. Only 2/3 of its length is
left.

short. The pastern is steep. The paws are roundish ,
tightly closed. The sole pad is elastic. Bastard

facial-nasal part and on the limbs. Its ears are of
medium length, thick, its splinted hair is upright
standing in other parts of its body the hair is
either shorter and splinted(: of an average of four
cm:) or longer and curly. Its hair can never be of
the puli's type, but neither is the smooth type of
hair allowed. It often happens that the hair of the
crest, the breast and that of the fore limb is
shorter, than that of the hindquarters and that of
the hind limb. The color of the hair varies: the
dove-grey, the silver-grey and the slate-grey are
very frequent. Black, light grey, white,
reddish-brown may also occur. It is a requirement
that this species should be without any mark and
equally not mottled
-Size and weight.-The height
of the withers - measured with a stick- is of 35 - 44
cm. The relative measurement of the single parts of
the body is - in percentage of that of the
withers-measured with a stick
length of the trunk 100%'
depth of the chest 43%
staves on the breast 30%
measurement of the girdle 115%
length of the head 44%
The length of the muzzle (nose)
equals the 45% of that of the head. The weight of the

lively, constantly bustling species. Its movements
are quick,
swift. Its step is mincing, its
gallop is pokingly bouncing.
Type faults, defects.-
Most of the defects of the type
originate from the effects produced by the puli. The
puli-like hair and the hanging down of the ears have
to be eliminated as a type fault. The upwards'
standing ear is equally not wanted. Every shape of
the tail other than the upwards standing one is to be
objected to. The short facial-nasal part diminishes
the efficaciousness of the grasp.
Light brown eye.
Motives of exclusion.-Hair
getting felty, short, smooth hair. Round head.
Pike-like teeth and
carp-like ones, which are bigger than two
millimeters. Defective pigmentation. Being mottled.
