ARBA announces it's new Senior Master Championship today in Cheltenham.  Maryland.  In order to earn this championship your dog must already be a Master Champion and your dog must earn four group ones over the year..

Kennel Club USA

Kennel Club USA will be coming to your part of the country very soon.  Kennel Club USA will recognize approximately 340 breeds from all around the world.  Kennel Club USA will promote all breeds that are recognized by the American Rare Breed Association, the American Kennel Club, FCI breeds and most of the United Kennel Club recognized breeds.  Contact them for further information at 301-868-8284.

SHOW DATES:

The dates for this show are the September 5th and 6th 2009.  Subject to change without notice.

SHOW TIMES:

The show on Saturday the 5th of September, 2009 will start at 9:30 am.  The show will run until conclusion, including Best in Show.  There will be a One (1) hour break at the conclusion of the first show.  The second show will start immediately after the one (1) hour break and will run until conclusion, including Best In Show.  The second day shows will run the same way.

DAY OF SHOW ENTRIES:

Day of show entries will be taken for all four shows between the hours of 8:00 and 8:45 am on the Saturday of the event.  Exhibitors may sign-up for all four shows at that time.  NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE ABOVE MENTIONED TIME.  Day of show entries will be accepted during the above mentioned hours for the Sunday show if it is a two day show.  However, if it is decided by the exhibitors at the show to complete the show on the Saturday of the scheduled event then no day of show entries will be accepted on that Sunday.  It is highly recommended that you call 301-868-5718 on Saturday to see if in fact there are going to be shows on that Sunday of the event.

PRE-ENTRIES:

The closing date for pre-entries for this show will be August 28, 2009.  The American Rare Breed Association will accept entries via the internet through the show entry section of our website
( http://www.arba.org ), through the United States Post Office, UPS, FedEx or any other common carrier as long as it reaches our office by 5:00 pm on the closing date of the event with regards to pre-entries.  We will not accept e-mail entries.  We will for an additional fee of $7.50 accept fax or telephone entries as long as payment is made for the entries at the time of the entry.  Only entries that are accompanied with a payment for the entries will constitute a valid entry. All entries are subject to the rules and regulations of the Association and no entry will be accepted that has not been paid for or has been received after the closing date or have conditions attached.

The American rare Breed Association has Seven Groups which the breeds are divided into.  The groups are Companion, Herding and Flock Guardian, Hounds, Spitz and Primitive, Sporting, Terrier and Working..  To learn if your dog is eligible to enter an American Rare Breed Association Conformation Dog Show please click on one of the following groups.

We also offer classes for Junior Puppies, puppies which are between the ages of Three (3) to Six (6) months.  Other classes are available for Clubs or Organizations which are holding a specialty with the American Rare Breed Association, such as the Two (2) to Four (4) month non regular class, Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Brace Class. Obedience is not offered at this show. Junior Showmanship is available at this show.  There is one class per day, which is held at 11:45 am each day

RULES FOR OBTAINING A CHAMPIONSHIP

Rules For Obtaining A
American Rare Breed Association Championship

 

To become an ARBA Champion, the following is required:

1. As of 1/1/98, Nine(9) CAC-US (Certificate of Aptitude for Championship in the United States) must be given from 6 different Judges to a dog whose breed is fully recognized by ARBA.

2.
Classes that are divided by sex which a dog may be eligible to compete for CAC-US: 6-9 Months, 9-15 Months, Bred by Exhibitor, American Bred & Open.

3.
Effectively July 1, 1999, the American Rare Breed Association will no longer offer the Breed Club Class as one of its classes for its shows.

4. Only ARBA Champions will be eligible for Best of Breed Class  ARBA Jr. Champions are not eligible for the Best of Breed Class. 

5. The first, second, third and fourth place dog in each class will receive a Rating.  The dogs/bitches will be rated as one of the following:  Excellent, Very Good, Satisfactory or Good.  A first place dog or bitch must receive a rating of excellent to be eligible for a CAC-US and to compete in the winners class.  In other words, if the first place dog is not rated by the Judge as excellent, it will not be able to compete in the winners class and won't be eligible to receive a CAC-US.  The CAC-US will be indicated on the judges sheet and accounted for by ARBA.

6. ARBA will notify you when you have attained all the requirements which qualifies your dog as an American Rare Breed Champion.  You must then follow all the rules and regulations to receive your championship certificate.  No dog will be officially an American Rare Breed Champion until the certificate of championship is issued.

 

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS

Make all checks and money orders payable to: ARBA Dog Shows, Canadian and other foreign exhibitors must make fees payable in US Funds. Please mail checks and money orders with entries. ARBA assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail.

 

PRE-ENTRY: Fees for each Regular Class and Junior Showmanship Class $20.00. Pre-Entry fee for each 3-6 month Puppy Class and Obedience Trial $15.00. All day of show entries are $25.00.

 

Day of Show Entries: Day of show entries will be accepted for the Saturday Morning Saturday Afternoon, Sunday Morning and Sunday Afternoon shows as is posted at the ARBA Show tent or office. Site and procedure is subject to  change without notice.

 

Entry Fees: Shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Judge or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee or Hotel Officials. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or complete the show, no entry fees will be refunded.

 

Postdated and Returned Checks: Do not constitute a valid entry fee. ARBA will add a collection fee to the amount of the returned check. Any exhibitor bouncing a check will be required to pay by cash or money order for future shows.

 

No Refunds: Will be made for duplicate entries that have been processed.

 

Errors on Entry Blanks: Owners are responsible for errors in filling out entry forms. No entry fees will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date.

 

No Entry: Shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance.

 

Shows: There will be (2) championship shows ( a morning and afternoon show) and (1) one Junior Championship. Or the number advertised in the premium.

 

Show Ring Tent: Only dogs about to enter the show ring will be permitted under the show tent. No crates are permitted in this area. There may or may not be an exhibitor’s tent. Bring your own shade.

 

Judges: Will not wait for any dog(s) holding up the class. Owners or agents alone, are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. Judges may not judge dogs owned or co-owned by them. F.C.I. Judges will not judge breeds that they are not licensed to judge at breed level.

 

Restrictions: No classes, for Wolf-Hybrids and American Indian Dogs.

 

Excessive aggression: Will not be tolerated. You will be asked to leave the show grounds. Your entry fee will not be refunded.

 

Each Person: Will be responsible for their own dog’s droppings. This rule will be strictly enforced by the show committee. Anyone that has been warned more than once will be excused from the show site. The entry will not be refunded. Thank You.

 

No Prong Collars: Are allowed in the show ring. No flexy leads allowed on the show site at any time.

 

For Breeds recognized by the Federal Cynologique Internationale, the approved breed standard for the organization will be used for the ARBA Shows.

Winners Dog/Bitch (10 points)  - CAC-US winners (15 points)  - Best of Opposite Sex (20 points)  - Best of Breed (25 points)  - Group 1 (100 points plus the number of dogs beaten) Group 2 -  (90 points plus the number of dogs beaten) -  Group 3  (80 points plus the number of dogs beaten) - Group 4 (70 points plus the number of dogs beaten) - Runner-Up Best in Show (125 points plus the number of dogs beaten) - Best in Show (250 points plus the number of dogs beaten).
